Spanish style houses all over the world are easily identifiable due to the use of ceramic roofing tiles of various dark reddish colours which resemble somehow the landscape and sunny days in the Mediterranean and other American countries.
But ceramic tiles are not just a design element. They are probably one of the best alternatives for roofing due to their good properties.
Durability Ceramic is a component with excelent mechanical propierties. Ceramic tiles have a relatively longer life if compared to most of the other materials used for roofing.
Fire resistance Ceramic tiles are fireproof. They do not burn, nor give off smoke or toxic fumes.
Moisture Resistance
They are an excellent choice for use in wet areas.
Thermal isolation A house with ceramic tiles will have much better cooling propierties than asphalt or other type of roofing. Also ceramic tiles will neither deform nor break in extreme temperature conditions.
Color permanence
Direct exposure of ceramic tiles to sunlight neither alters their color, nor causes them to fade.
Mazarrón is a very well known brick and tile manufacturer from Spain which started manufacturing back in 1976. Currently the company owns 6 factories in Spain which produces up to 120.000 tiles and accessories and has an extensive experience in international projects.
