Wages slid for the first time in three months in May, eroding prospects for an acceleration in domestic demand and deepening concern that the global economic recovery will slow.
Monthly wages including overtime and bonuses dropped 0.2 percent from a year earlier to ¥267,721, the labor ministry said Wednesday.
