Ichiro Ozawa will soon submit a statement to an independent judicial panel, arguing there are no facts substantiating the allegation that he colluded with aides to falsify financial statements for his political fundraising organization, his lawyer said Wednesday.
The lawyer said he will make a case in writing on behalf of the former secretary general of the Democratic Party of Japan, mainly in regard to evidential matters and ask the panel to take into consideration that he relinquished the party's No. 2 position due to the scandal.
