Sales of city gas for industrial use rose 15.6 percent in May from a year earlier to 1.333 billion cu. meters, marking the seventh straight month of increase, the Japan Gas Association said Monday.
The data for industrial-use gas consumption, an indicator for gauging corporate activity, showed that production was steady, the association said.
