The Democratic Party of Japan intends to go ahead with fielding multiple candidates in districts where two or more seats are up for grabs in the Upper House election, rather than just get behind one candidate.
The party is hoping to capitalize on the positive momentum in public opinion generated by the launch of Prime Minister Naoto Kan's Cabinet.
