Hitachi Ltd. said Tuesday it will bolster its annual procurement of materials and components from overseas suppliers for products such as electronics devices and steel sheets by 150 percent to ¥3 trillion by fiscal 2012 from fiscal 2009 levels.
Hitachi will also hike the average percentage of components procured overseas to 50 percent of all components used in its products, twice the corresponding ratio in fiscal 2009, it said.
