WASHINGTON (Kyodo) Kurt Campbell, U.S. assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, will travel to Japan this week, the State Department said Friday.
During his visit to Tokyo, Campbell is expected to meet Japanese officials to discuss the relocation of the U.S. Futenma base in Okinawa Prefecture and how to deal with North Korea over its alleged fatal torpedo attack on a South Korean warship in March, diplomatic sources said.
