Accountant guilty over funds but DPJ's Kobayashi stays put PDF Print E-mail

SAPPORO (Kyodo) A Hokkaido court sentenced a former accountant of Democratic Party of Japan lawmaker Chiyomi Kobayashi to a suspended six-month prison term Wednesday for receiving ¥16 million in illegal donations from a teachers' union for Kobayashi's election campaign.
Presiding Judge Yasuo Tsujikawa of the Sapporo District Court said ex-accountant Michiru Kimura had asked for a large amount of donations on a number of occasions.
