Jobless rate climbed to 5.2% in '09 PDF Print E-mail

The unemployment rate rose to 5.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis in fiscal 2009, topping 5 percent for the first time in six years, government data showed Friday
The rate, which rose 1.1 points from the previous year, was the second-highest on record after the 5.4 percent logged in fiscal 2002, the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry said in the preliminary report.
