Dumplings suspect spills guts, but NPA not fully convinced PDF Print E-mail

The suspect in the "gyoza" poisonings that sickened 10 people in Japan in late 2007 and early 2008 has told Chinese authorities how he got pesticide into packages of the dumplings, which were later exported to Japan, Japanese investigative sources said Friday.
"I injected pesticide by piercing cardboard boxes packed with frozen dumpling packages with a 20-mm syringe from outside," Lu Yueting, 35, was quoted by Chinese public security officials as saying during two days of talks in Tokyo last week with Japanese police.
