Suicides tend to happen on Mondays, the first and the last days of each month, and in March, according to a government study.
Analyzing suicide trends from 2004 to 2009, the Cabinet Office and the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry found that people tend to kill themselves on the first or the last day of each month, with March 1 being particularly bad. By days of the week, Monday is generally the worst.
